Former all-state star athlete and glovemaking heir who marries Dawn Dwyer and raises their daughter Merry in Old Rimrock. Devastated by Merry's radicalization and bombing, he frantically searches for clues, meets Rita Cohen, and eventually finds her living in extreme asceticism in Newark. His life is ultimately shattered by her disappearance and death.
