Protagonist and narrator. A high school student in 1980s Encino who evolves from conforming to Valley girl norms to embracing her individual aspirations of attending FIT in New York. She transitions from dating arrogant jock Mickey to romance with punk singer Randy, navigates friend group conflicts, and ultimately reconciles with her past while forging her own path.
