Central figure in the 1817 Tennessee timeline. Condemned by a church court for land theft, he becomes the target of a curse from Kathe Batts. He suffers severe paranormal attacks, loses his sanity, attempts suicide, and is ultimately poisoned by his daughter Betsy.
