A ruthless, scarred swordsman in Richelieu's employ. He murders young D'Artagnan's parents and becomes his lifelong nemesis. He orchestrates attacks on the royal palace, kidnaps the Queen and Francesca to provoke war between France and England, and is ultimately slain by D'Artagnan in a climactic duel.
