A fellow war veteran and LAPD detective recruited by O'Mara to head the Squad. He develops a secret romance with Cohen's etiquette tutor, Grace Faraday, and attempts to help her escape the mobster with gangster Jack Whalen's assistance. He is wounded in the final shootout and continues his relationship with Faraday after Cohen's downfall.
