Son of Uther Pendragon, raised as a squire by Ector. Proves his divine right by pulling Excalibur from the stone. Unifies Britain, establishes the Round Table, and marries Guenevere. His reign is tested by the Lancelot-Guenevere affair, Morgana's curses, and Mordred's rebellion. Ultimately mortally wounded in battle, he commands Perceval to return the sword to the Lady of the Lake before departing for Avalon.
