Ambitious second-in-command who betrays Hou by sending assassins and later seizes control of his army. Cao Man's forces threaten innocents, forcing Hou's return. He is defeated in single combat by Hou but is spared when Hou sacrifices himself to save him from a collapsing structure, leaving Cao Man consumed by guilt.
