A historical Malay Muslim slave and former student of Kadir. He betrayed Kadir to the landlord, later usurped the house after the landlord's death, and created counter-curse talismans. He trapped a forest spirit in a birdcage as a guardian, inadvertently contributing to the overlapping curses that left the house uninhabitable. He was eventually executed by drowning.
Once master and student, their ideological split leads to betrayal and mutual destruction.
