Wealthy industrialist and former associate of Bärlach, haunted by a fatal 1948 bet. Suspected of pushing a woman off a bridge, he continues to commit crimes that Bärlach cannot prove. He taunts Bärlach, attempts to have him killed, and ultimately meets his end when Tschanz shoots him and his bodyguards as part of Bärlach's revenge scheme.
