A retired librarian who joins the boat escape. He initially advocates for equality and later reveals himself as a CID officer investigating terrorists. His true allegiance is eventually unveiled as the chief commander of an Indian National Army spy cell, carrying a Japanese war bomb to destroy Madras harbor. He is fatally stabbed by Irwin Thomas before dying.
