A proud and socially awkward dog walker engaged to Barbara. He takes a job at the Tuttle department store where manager Quimby assigns him impossible tasks to make him quit. Despite hilarious mishaps, he perseveres, earning Quimby's respect. He secretly befriends John Tuttle. After a vacuum cleaner accident reveals Barbara's secret heiress status, he breaks off the engagement but eventually reconciles with the family after they apologize.
