American fighter pilot stationed in Sicily tasked with orienting actor Tom Slade for a film role. Initially determined to prove that real combat flying is harder than Hollywood portrays, he subjects Slade to intense F-16 maneuvers and hypoxia training. After they are accidentally shot down behind enemy lines, Watkins must collaborate with his pupil to survive and escape hostile territory.
