Protagonist who discovers a black magic book and hidden staircase in his attic. After a consciousness-merging ritual causes his wife Faith's death, he is institutionalized four years later. Under amnesia, he is manipulated by Dr. Ek into a fake rehabilitation facility. He experiences hallucinations of Faith, interacts with actors, and ultimately kills characters he believes are possessed before pulling himself into the attic chest.
