A bookstore owner recently out of rehab who faces financial ruin and his father's alcoholism. He trades books with Arlen for spiritual answers. After his father dies, he seeks solace at Arlen's house and receives comfort from Elizabeth. His bookstore is potentially rescued by Arlen's anniversary event.
