A blind aviator veteran who initially contemplates suicide but is inspired by Florence radio sermons. He attends her crusade, enters a lion cage with her, and hires himself out to write hymns. He falls in love with Florence, stands up to Hornsby, and ultimately rescues her from a burning building after regaining his sight.
