Referred to as Mr. Marsh in the plot, he is a rival track owner whose daughter Kelly goads Casey into a match race. Desperate to prevent Shadow from beating his own horse, he poisons the feed, accidentally killing Gypsy instead, and is subsequently beaten by Lloyd.
