Central protagonist and diary keeper. She marries oil magnate John Rimbauer, who builds the cursed Rose Red mansion for her. She experiences anxieties, observes supernatural hauntings, and fears John's dark past. After his death, she obsessively expands the house with her inheritance to avoid dying, eventually vanishing in 1950.
