Vanishes after hearing phantom horses while driving alone. Captured and held by the villain Devlin inside the ghost town. Rescued by Langley, they escape a burning church together. Survives the climax and departs with Langley as the town's souls look on approvingly.
Langley rescues Kate from Devlin's captivity and they flee together.
Devlin imprisons Kate to maintain his control over the town.
