A forest hunter who joins Magnus on his quest to rescue his brother. He secretly trains Magnus in combat and reveals himself to be a former soldier in King Laypach's army who once refused a cruel order. He fights alongside Magnus against Kronin but is ultimately killed in battle, finding peace through visions of his deceased wife.
Ari becomes Magnus's loyal companion and combat instructor throughout the journey.
