Ni Han's nephew, raised with traditional values. He rejects carnal pleasures until marriage but falls deeply in love with his uncle's wife, Yupadee. After their secret affair is discovered, Ni Han chains their wrists and exiles them to a cabin. Following Yupadee's suicide to free him, Sangmong loses his sanity and wanders the village as a tormented madman.
