Simon's brother who attempts to protect Annie from Simon's abuse. Distraught over her suffering, he kills Simon with an axe and covers it up. He and Annie consummate their bond, but he flees and later marries Jenny. He eventually apologizes to Annie and forgives her for claiming Simon as the father.
