Martial arts instructor for the imperial guards and the story's protagonist. Initially a righteous and respected official, he is unjustly framed by corrupt officials, exiled, and driven to rebellion after his wife is killed. He ultimately kills his enemy Lu Chien and joins the Liangshan Marsh outlaws.
