Don Pedro is a sophisticated but unsavory artist who joins the journey. He attempts to seduce Rosie and paints an unflattering nude portrait of her before departing with petrol. He is later accidentally shot in the head by a revolver during a struggle, and his body falls into the sea, though Ferdie briefly mistakes a bus passenger for him.
