A former gangster turned horse breeder living with his wife Nicole outside Paris. After burying a dead accomplice and clashing with a psychotic criminal named Mickey, he recruits old associates to hunt him down. He rescues Mickey from a fatal shooting but ultimately kills Detective Sarlat to protect his new life, later adopting Mickey's orphaned daughter.
