A detective obsessed with mass murders due to childhood trauma. He pursues the couple across the Southwest and oversees their transfer. Revealed to be a violent psychopath himself, he attempts to seduce Mallory in prison, is beaten by her, and is ultimately killed by her during the prison riot standoff.
