A US lawyer on holiday in Salzburg who investigates the suspicious death of photographer Richard Bryant at the behest of publisher James Newhart. He becomes entangled in an international espionage plot involving a hidden chest of documents, collaborates with CIA agent Chuck and Austrian intelligence, and ultimately rescues Anna's brother while exposing corrupt officials.
