A scrawny student initially tormented by the bullies. After the bullies' deaths, he turns into a bully himself and allies with David. Along with Mary and Jane, he discovers dynamite but ignores it. He is killed in a subsequent explosion that triggers a rockslide, and the police blame him and the others for the carnage.
