A reserved neighbor and businessman with unspoken feelings for Shao-Hua. He steps in to care for her after Yueh-Feng is injured. On the eve of the Communist victory, he secures passage to Taiwan for both of them but ultimately abandons his escape to remain by Shao-Hua's side.
