The protagonist and striptease compère at a Soho club. He must raise £300 to pay a gambling debt within five hours by calling in favors and making dodgy deals. After failing to secure enough money, he exposes the club to his audience and attempts to flee to Bradford with Patsy. He is eventually ambushed by the bookie's thugs but receives mercy and cash from one of them.
