A loyal dog and former factory worker abducted the night David was born. He befriends David, warns him about escape obstacles, and reveals Murdstone's plot regarding the Cheese Monster. Mealy bravely fights off the antagonists to help David escape over a gate, ends up in the sewers, and is eventually rescued by David.
Mealy is a fellow abducted worker who becomes David's closest friend.
