A St. Louis socialite who marries Brewton and moves to New Mexico. Struggling with isolation and her husband's rigidity, she briefly leaves and has an affair with Chamberlain. Eventually returns, accepts the consequences of her actions, and ultimately reconciles with her family while understanding her husband's deep bond with the land.
