An astronomer who moves to New York City after his childhood sweetheart Linda leaves him for another man. He sets up surveillance on her new partner Anton and partners with Maggie to sabotage their relationship. He gradually develops feelings for Maggie and ultimately reconciles with his past while starting a new relationship with her.
