The commanding officer of the 14th Cavalry post. Initially dismissive of Seward's warnings, he eventually places the doctor under house arrest and later leads him on a fatal patrol. He ultimately relents to Seward's surgery to save Spotted Wolf and pledges to protect the Kiowa's peaceful life.
