A mine owner whose ore is targeted by Lacey's gang. He proposes to Lin Connor but is rejected. He pressures Sheriff Lawrence to act against Lacey, incites a lynch mob to protect himself from implicating him, and is ultimately shot by Whit Lacey during the Sioux attack.
