A young anthropology professor who arrives at the college and attracts the female students. Initially disapproving of their reckless behavior, he rescues Stella from drunk men at a bar. Though he criticizes her lack of ambition, he kisses her and later confesses he loves her potential. He ultimately abandons his teaching position to reunite with Stella, supporting her decision to leave college and start anew.
