Jacob rides to Red Bluff to reconcile with his estranged son after burning their family ranch. He suffers from fading vision, which he hides from Riley. During the final showdown, Riley acts as his eyes, leading to a mutual kill with King Fisher. Jacob ultimately dies in his son's arms.
