A veterinarian in rural Arizona who investigates mysterious animal deaths. Initially skeptical of arachnologist Diane Ashley's theory that tarantulas are killing livestock, he becomes a central survivor. He rescues Linda Hansen and barricades himself with her and Ashley at the Washburn Lodge, eventually succumbing to spider venom after repairing the lodge's power.
