Malli's distant cousin, initially portrayed as a socially isolated village simpleton who harbors secret feelings for her. Under Malli's guidance, he transforms into a capable and protective man. He travels to town to arrange their marriage, arrives just in time to save Malli from an assault, and kills the attacker in self-defense. He serves a prison sentence for the murder but is eventually released and marries Malli.
