Protagonist and middle-aged industrial designer who discovers a vintage revolver wrapped in a 1934 newspaper, cleans and paints it red with white polka dots, seduces the maid, and ultimately shoots his wife at dawn before fleeing to work as a chef on a yacht bound for Tahiti.
