A Muslim slave trader who initially attempts to sell Susan Gale in Hezak. During the crew's escape, he accidentally boards the Jupiter and becomes a reluctant comic foil. He assists the crew in Timbuktu by helping purchase Makia and participates in the final rescue. Unable to swim, he uses the balloon as a raft and ultimately kills the slave trade leader to secure the mission's success.
