An RAF aircrew cadet and David Wilton's friend and friendly rival. He proves to be a natural pilot during training. Later in the war, he flies a Lancaster bomber crew that is damaged during a bombing mission and forced to ditch in the North Sea, ultimately relying on Wilton's navigation skills for their rescue.
They form a close bond during their early military service.
