A middle-aged skilled engineer from Belgrade who arrives to install heavy mining equipment. He forms a romantic relationship with Rajka, hesitant about their age difference but eventually committed. He is offered to take her away from her family. Later, he receives a government medal for exemplary service but is devastated when Rajka disappears from his honor banquet, leading to a confrontation about her new young lover.
