A wealthy Canadian woman who marries industrialist Alexandre Saccard. After her passion fades and a stillbirth, she begins an affair with Alexandre's son Maxime. She demands a divorce, which Alexandre grants only if she leaves her fortune invested in his business. After attempting suicide in a pool upon returning to find Maxime engaged to another, she enters the party wet and sits in despair.
