A Wall Street operator and husband to Doris Ward. He offers Jim Crane a sales job and later recruits Mae to his office. Recognizing Jim's sales failure, he devises a scheme to unload worthless bonds onto wealthy women using Jim as a scapegoat. After a hotel incident, he pays $20,000 to settle the matter and later attempts to confront Jim.
