An astronomer and Hella's father who runs an observatory in Chamonix. He once worked at Mont Blanc's weather station and accompanies Hella on a flight to visit the old friend Hannes. While studying geology near the station, he tragically falls from a rocky ledge, an event witnessed by Hannes and Hella.
