An Italian lawyer who gives his plane seat to Mary. After their suitcases are swapped, he assists Mary in investigating her husband Giulio's suspicious death. He uncovers a hidden treasure map, discovers Giulio faked his death, and ultimately tricks Giulio into taking a lethal drug. It is later revealed he was hired by an insurance company to track the robbers. He falls in love with Mary and returns to New York with her.
Initial physical attraction evolves into genuine romantic love by the film's end.
