The younger son of patriarch Chandrasekhar. He inherits the ancestral mansion following the grandfather's death. He resides there with his wife Lalitha, whose arrogant behavior towards Padma's family forces them to relocate, before his accidental death transfers the property back to Padma and her children.
Swaminathan is Padma's younger brother and inherits the family mansion.
