Texas Ranger tasked by Governor Lubbock to rescue Union spy Whitney Randolph and investigate stolen munitions in Mexico. He assists Madeline Danzeeger, discovers the gunpowder at a ranch, and attempts to destroy it. After being captured and nearly killed by a trap, he is saved by Randolph. Madeline eventually falls in love with him.
