Protagonist who witnesses a bank robbery with two accomplices. To escape the situation, he takes a vacation to Reno and checks into the Bar Nothing Ranch. He accidentally uncovers a buried suitcase of money belonging to the robbers using a metal detector. His discovery and subsequent encounters with a sheriff, a sailor, and a gun moll lead to severe misunderstandings and ultimately cause his wife to file for divorce.
