John's brother who visits unexpectedly seeking a hoard of gold coins left by their father. After John refuses to hand them over, Deel murders him and attempts to kill the boys. He relentlessly pursues Chris and Tim, catches them, and tries to drown Chris, but is fatally stabbed during their struggle.
